Cedar is extremely versatile and can be used for siding, paneling, window and door trim, corners, timbers, and decking. Inquire with your local retail building material supplier. Planks are 12 feet long x 5/16 inches thick., and they come in a half dozen widths, which means weather exposures can vary from 4 inches to 10 3/4 inches. Holes are a prominent problem with Masonite siding. Masonite siding is, however, affected by moisture and is susceptible to deterioration. Unlike natural wood, Masonite hardboard does not shrink, blister or swell. A lot of MDF or 3/8” plywood dollhouse kits come with pre-milled siding, right on their walls, so there’s no need to apply individual siding strips.
